The 3,000 square foot clubhouse, constructed by Fredericksburg homebuilder Tony Martin Inc., features a traditional Texas Hill Country style with deep covered porches and breezeways. Accessible 24-hours to members, the 14-foot ceilings, antique timber beams and long leaf pine floors make this gathering space warm and inviting. With a fully equipped kitchen, large outdoor patio, fireplace, swimming pool, lap pool, bath house and BBQ area. The Clubhouse offers a comfortable location to enjoy the Preserve for the day-use, prior to construction or an inspiring space to plan your future home.
More than your typical Homeowners Association, the Preserve has a full-time, experienced staff dedicated to the management and everyday maintenance of the ranch. Our onsite concierge service is available to anticipate your every need and ensure that each visit to the ranch is comfortable and easy. It’s our goal to help you take advantage of all that the Texas Hill Country has to offer, whether it’s a sunset trail ride, fishing in the stocked bass ponds or time spent exploring the ranch. Concierge staff works with each owner to tailor a program of services that meet your family needs. And all the amenities from town are just a phone call away.
One of the unique pleasures of being a part of a 2,000-acre ranch without the work, is the relaxation around every corner. Kick your feet up and sway a while at one of the three hammock groves located at the Clubhouse, Walnut Springs dam and Picnic pond.
More than a decade ago, one of the Preserve’s ranch hands Jesus Cuellar Senior identified a seep bubbling up from the foothills on the south side of the ranch. In his honor, Cuellar Spring was later expanded. Invasive vegetation removed, a series of water catchment pools added and fencing to protect the sensitive environment. The spring-fed pool provides a quiet refuge for hikers, horseback riders and thrill-seeking swimmers.
A beautiful 10-stall limestone barn with Priefert stalls, tack room, separate feed room and hot/cold wash rack is available to members and their boarded horses. The barn is situated next to a covered arena and surrounding horse pastures with run-in shelters. Love to ride but without the work of horse ownership? We’ll redefine your image of horseback riding with one-of-a-kind equestrian adventures on one of 6 available ranch horses. Whether you’re an experienced rider or you’ve never been in the saddle before, your matchmaking Wrangler will pair you up with the right four-legged friend. A trusty companion that will aid in your exploration of over 22 miles of trails that meander through wet weather creeks, narrow canyon trails and gently sloping grasslands.
The community boasts 1,500 acres of protected open space which totals 75% of the property. With 22 miles of established trails, the opportunity to stroll, run or ride the majestic hills, picturesque valleys and wildflower-rich hillsides, are just outside your doorstep. You’ll pass towering Oak and Walnut trees – whose size and beauty are surpassed only by the long vistas and distant rolling hills. You’ll ride over, through and around the remains of what was once a presidential retreat, now home to a group of modern day pioneers paving the way in land stewardship.
The Preserve at Walnut Springs balances preservation with enrichment of habitat through thoughtful planning of a limited number of homesteads. More than a decade ago, The Preserve set in place a Wildlife Management Plan that nurtures the land, provides for a healthy herd of Texas longhorn cattle, and monitors and manages native species populations. Owners are invited to join in annual activities such as census counts and guided hunts. Tax savings may be passed down to each individual owner participating in the wildlife management plan in accordance with the overall plan approved by the Texas Parks & Wildlife and Blanco County. Bass fishing is available on stocked ponds throughout the ranch. Equipment, rod, reels and bait are also available onsite, and a fishing trip can be booked through the Concierge service for beginner anglers.
